------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BACKGROUND : THE DATA WAS OBTAINED BY FIRST SUBJECTING THE THE ADF04 FILE 'HPSL91H' TO ADAS211. ADAS211 ESSENTIALLY IMPLEMENTS THE BURGESS AND TULLY TRANSFORMATION ON THE EFFECTIVE COLLISION STRENGTH ( SEE REFERENCE (1)). THE X AND Y ARRAYS DESCRIBED IN (1) ARE THEN PASSED TO A SUBROUTINE WHICH PRODUCES A SPLINE THROUGH THE THE DATA.TO OBTAIN THE EFFECTIVE COLLISION STRENGTH FOR A GIVEN TEMPERATURE RANGE, ADAS211 READS THE REQUIRED TEMPERATURE RANGE AND THE CORRESPONDING Y VALUES ARE EVALUATED FROM THE SPLINE. THE NEW EFFECTIVE COLISION STRENGTH IS OBTAINED BY REVERSING THE TRANSFORMATION. REFERENCE : (1) A.BURGESS AND J.A.TULLY ON THE ANALYSIS OF COLLISION STRENGTHS AND RATE COEFFICIENTS. ASTRON.ASRTOPHYS.254,436-453 ( 1992 ) Program: ADAS211 Source file: /JETABU.HLIKE.DATA(HAL96H) Producer: H. Anderson (JETABU) Date: 15/02/96 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Modified data for 1s-2s,2p,3s,3p,3d; 2s-3s,3p,3d; 2p-3s,3p,3d substituted based on analyis of Calloway recommendations (1994)ADNDT in combination with Sampson data. Preferred curves were established using Burgess C-plots on EXCEL spreadsheets. Producer: H. Anderson Date: 15/02/96 Update: 28/08/97 HP Summers - checked energy levels - OK. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- File generated by manual merging of COPHA#H_HAH96H.DAT and COPHA#H_HAL96H.DAT Producer: cfm Date: 29/09/97 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RADIATIVE RECOMBINATION DATA ADDED PROCESSED BY ADAS211 ON : /u/cfm/adas/adf08/rrc97##/rrc97##_h1ls.dat 29/09/97 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update : 17/03/99 H. Anderson Identified and corrected the error associated with the effective collision strength at 3.48E+04 K for the transition H(2s)-H(3d) i.e. 6-2. The value originally inserted into the file was 70.0 when it should have been 7.0. Corrected error associated with the effective collision strength at 8.12E+04 K for the transition H(1s)-H(3s) i.e 1-4. The value original entered was 6.03E-04 when it should have been 9.10E-02. Source of error was due to a mistake in the excel spread sheet. Corrected error associated with the data for the transition H(2p)-H(3p) i.e. 5-3. The values for at 5.8E5 and 1.16E6 K which were respectively 9.44-01 and 9.37-01 were incorrect. The correct values are 2.53+01 2.68+01 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
